On August 11, 2008 Zoe Simpson began his journey in the story of God.  Born 6+ weeks premature in Vidalia, Ga he was immediately diagnosed with a condition known as Hydrops.  A medical team from Savannah made the 2 hour trip to Vidalia to move Zoe to Memorial University Center.  Three days later with the doctors unsure of Zoe's ability to survive his mother, Carmen, was released and joined him in Savannah.
Doctors have been unsure of the final outcome for Zoe.  After several tests it was discovered that Zoe had a major bleed on the top, middle, and lower portions of the brain.  Jim and Carmen were told that Zoe would probably never see, hear, or even breathe apart from a ventilator.  Four weeks later Zoe has overcome the Hydrops, is breathing with only the assistance of oxygen.  His eyes have had over a 90% recovery and it is obvious by the expression of his face at Carmen's voice that he can hear.
Jim and Carmen know that Zoe's life is in God's hand.  They have asked for their friends, family, and community to pray and believe for the total and complete healing of Zoe.  In a matter of weeks God has done what man said would not be done.  Whatever the final outcome for Zoe's story, an outcome that cannot be predicted, God has been faithful and Jim and Carmen are encouraged with every day they have with their son.
In early October, after nearly 2 months in the hospital, Zoe was finally able to be home. The family is enjoying life in Baxley and they are very thankful for the support of the community.
